Introduction Program
Beginners will typically be given a method book to work from until they are ready to move on to wider repertoire and/or exams. This will increase their sight-reading skills, technical ability and listening awareness.
Basic Program
A piano and keyboard specialist, Laurence is experienced with and happy to teach all styles of music, from Albeniz to Zappa, constructing a curriculum to match each student personally. He also teaches singing.
At his teaching studio, south-west of Norwich, you can try out his beautifully restored 1910 Bechstein grand piano or a more modern keyboard!
Some pupils choose to learn for enjoyment, whilst many prefer to prepare for exams, with any of the three main exam boards. These are: ABRSM, LCM and Trinity. Exams are available three times a year. The choice of grade and board will be reached through close consultation between teacher, pupil and parents.
Laurence's pupils achieve outstanding success in exams and following his calmly delivered advice have a good exam experience.
